This song to me means that he misses someone and he can't live without her. He says what hurts the most was being so close and that means he was so close to her and now she is gone. I picked this song because it is a good song and it is a song of friendship. I like this song a lot. It used to be my favorite. this song relates to my life because when i was in the 4th grade i lost one of my best friends. his name was Cody and he moved and when he moved i didn't know what to do. I didn't have anything to do because he was the only person that i hung out it all the time. i havent seen him since but i have made many new best friends.

Huck Finn Readers Response 3 (14-18)

The thing that impresses Huck about the Grangerford ’s house is that he likes the way that their house looks. He says that their house had “STYLE” and how the fire place is bricked. Another reason is that he has never seen a country house before. Hucks views of education was that it gives you success because looking at all the books he knew that they were well educated. (CH.17-Pg.75.Par3)

The special things about the books in the house are that they were neat. They interested him because there were all different types of them such as: a family bible, hymn book, they interested him also because he maybe thought of them of being educated because they had so many books. This says that Huck values education so you know that Huck is very intelligent. Huck really likes to read.

The things so unique about the paintings are that they are all about death but in different contents. the girl is obsessed with death and black because in her paintings she has everything with death and always has the color black (CH.17-Pg.76.Par.2&3). The reason that he explained the paintings with so much detail was because he wants you to understand it. Twains view if death is like a ‘’satire’’ he takes it serious and also funny at the same time.

Huck Finn Reader Response 2 (7-13)

Pap has influenced Huck by him drinking. This influences Huck because when Pap drinks he gets out of control and Huck realizes that he doesn’t want to be like that when he gets older. I believe that Pap has the most negative influence on Huck because Pap is always drinking and swearing and stumbling around Huck which could lead Huck into thinking that all of that is cool and that that is the way he needs to be when he grows up. A quote that can support this is when Huck says, “Every little while he locked me in and went down to the store, three miles, to the ferry, and traded fish and game for whisky.”, and that shows that Pap is willing to give up anything and even the necessities in order to get what he needs. (Ch. 6, Pg.18, Par. 2)

Jim has had a positive and negative influence on Huck. The positive influence that Jim has had on Huck is that Jim helps say what the right thing to do is and what the wrong think to do is. The negative influence that Jim has had on Huck is that Jim ran away which is telling Huck that it is okay to do that. A quote that supports the negative influence is when Jim tells Huck, “Huck. I –I run off.” This is telling Huck that it is okay to run away because an adult did it so it should be fine for you to do it. (Ch. 8, Pg. 32, Par. 18)

The Widow Douglas has had a positive influence on Huck. I believe that because she was always telling him not to smoke because it will kill you and she was always getting him to clean his clothes. A quote that can support this is when the widow tells Huck "Don't put your feet up there, Huckleberry;" and "Don't scrunch up like that, Huckleberry-set up straight;" and "Don't gap and stretch like that, Huckleberry-why don'tyou try and behave?" I think this is a good influence on huck because she is trying to help him shape up so he becomes a very nice young man and get a good job when he is older.

Huck Finn Essay Exam 1 (1-23)

In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, there are many moral dilemmas that Huck and his friends must go through. The definition of a moral dilemma is a situation or conflict that has no right or wrong answer to the problem. One moral dilemma that Huck has to face is him lying about his death. This situation is a moral dilemma because he thinks it is a good idea because it helps him run away from his father who beats him. But on the other hand people think it is bad because now he is gone and they are all wondering why someone would do that to him.

To Huck it seems like a good idea because he is thinking about running away but he didn’t think that he would get caught so he needed a plan to get away with it. He thought about it and made a plan. He ripped his hair out and put it on the axe then put the pigs blood all over the place and people really thought that he was dead and someone took him and buried him or something.

In the other peoples thought they are thinking how he got kidnapped in the first place because they didn’t know where he was hiding. Pap took him to a little beat down shack where no one would even look for him there. The second thing that went through the other peoples mind was who killed him. At first everyone thinks that is was pap because they know that pap is gone too so they assume he was with Huck. When all the people go to look for him when they notice that he is gone someone says “Look sharp, now; the current sets in the closest here, and maybe he’s washed ashore and got tangled amongst the brush at the water’s edge. I hope so, anyway.” So far in the book the family and friends of Huck haven’t found out that Huck is lying and that he is still alive. Huck’s decision to lie was very wise and smart the way he planned it out but in the long run it could catch up with him and he could get seriously injured.

I believed Jim was a very important key in his escape because even though Jim knew that Huck was running away and faked his own death he still kept it a secret. That is a lot of pressure to hold something that big in so I would have given Jim props for it.
